Don't Mess with Me When I'm Writing

I can get a little snippy when I'm deep into writing (just ask my partner, Bruce), but until a friend (thanks, Anthony!) sent me this clip from The Shining, I didn't realize just how snippy I could be.

My Lord, it was like holding up a mirror!

Now, I must get back to work:

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy...

Wow, Rick. Maybe you should be more like another Jack.

    Jack Daniel ;D

  2. Hee Hee...love that scene. Jack did somewhat of a parody of it years later in As Good As It Gets...

  3. Gee, hopefully Bruce keeps all sharp objects, like axes, away from you.

  5. I find myself empathizing with Jack Torrance at times. Then I give my head a good hard shake, take a breath, and go to the ghost bar for more invisible booze.

  6. Uh, nope, not me. Nothing like me at all.

Get back. No, you can't type in here, this is my lil square. I get to tell my side of it.

Okay, so maybe I'm just a tad like Jack. I don't actually tear paper.

Oh, I have gray here too. That's different, right?

    Ugh

Nice post, Rick. You couldn't keep this to yourself, could you?

  7. Too funny...and so true. If I said it the way Jack said it I'd be walking around with a typewriter (oops...a laptop) over my head! Did you guys hear that? Wow! I haven't heard the type hammers of a typewriter in years - historic! :)

    Thanks for sharing this, Rick.

  9. Hilarious.....make this into a G (maybe PG-13) rated version, and this happens daily in my house between me and the kids!!

  10. :) Damn, so true. Hide the weapons when we're busy writing. Also, Jack looks hot in this scene :D.

  11. Rick, hopefully Bruce is cuter than Shelley!

I'll just bet she wanted to hit Jack up side his head with that old typewriter, too.
